Rachel Ohnsman, a jazz/pop singer-songwriter, brings a breath of fresh air with her smooth vocals and thoughtful piano playing.
Rachel's debut album, “Lovers,” is freshly released and available
on all music platforms.
Growing up in Pennsylvania, Rachel's upbringing was in classical and musical theatre. She spent her formative years competing in classical piano competitions, singing in high-level choirs, and developing her solo classical and musical theatre vocal chops.
Upon moving to Miami for college, Rachel developed a serious interest in jazz and R&B. After a year of study in the classical department at the Frost School of Music, she moved to the jazz department and graduated from the University of Miami with her Bachelor's
Now, Rachel infuses her original music with varied styles and influences like Regina Spektor and Emily King to create a sound of her own. Personal lyrics, lush vocal charts, and intuitive harmonic language are all staples of her original music.
Rachel is currently pursuing her Master's degree at the University of Miami in Media Writing & Production. In addition to her studies and performances, she arranges songs for a cappella groups, vocal jazz ensembles, and backup vocals. Rachel also teaches private lessons in both voice and piano.
